My favourite non-holiday celebration fell on a Friday this year so you know we had to do it big.
Leading up to a late night trip to Party City, a number of ideas ran through my mind. I generally like to dress up in funny and topical costumes. This year was difficult because as many of you are aware, the news has just not been that "funny". Among the contenders for possible costumes was Mugatu and Bojack Horsemen but since I was headed to the Dreamcast 2.0 Body High party, Tommy Chong was the perfect choice. Luckily, ThugDizco collaborator and friend TurnToSideB already owned a pair of red suspenders from his beer slinging days. Fortuitous indeed.
After clicking up at The Dropoff for a few casual beverages, the Big Trouble family was ready to party. In Vancouver, the rainy season means 45 plus minutes waiting on cabs, that is if they show up at all. Luckily, VaryPossible and Jazzy, dressed respectively as Alvin the Chipmunk and Brittany from the Chipettes, happened to be in possession of two boxes of very loud time killers.
After reliving our high school days we managed to wrangle some cabs and headed to the function. Featuring DJ Dodger Stadium (Samo Sound Boy & Jerome LOL) Myrryrs and Joaquin Bartra, littered with inflatable couches, a Sony Dreamcast plugged into a wall projector and sponsored by the fam at CannaClinic, there was nothing not to like at the party.
On one closed side of the venue there was a Bond car on display, adding to Halloween atmosphere.
Great vibes made for another memorable Halloween for the books with the BTLC / ThugDizco crew. Until next time!
